ITIL® and BS15000
ITIL® and BS 15000 form the standard of IT service management. Many organizations have adopted BS15000 in their strategy. ITIL® and BS 15000 are neither interchangeable nor can you select only one exclusively for IT service management because they assist each other in providing better services in an organization. BS15000 sets a standard for service management that must be adopted for improved practices.
BS15000 was adopted as per the British standards, but now the IT service management is embodied under the ISO20000 standard. The new standard is the international equivalent of BS15000. The standards mainly define an organization’s requirements to deliver IT managed services.
